Ein wildes, farbenfrohes Video drehte Regisseurin Eva Michon zur neuen Deap Vally Single „Gonnawanna“, Passend zu ihrer Interpretation des Songs:
„I knew that this song needed a surf themed video when I first heard it. I wanted there to be a character in it that just does exactly what they want despite what other people may think. Somehow that translated into a giant pink yeti played by my husband, fucking up a day at the beach for characters in a campy 50s-themed movie. Julie and Lindsey stand up to the yeti, but in the end it’s about everyone learning that they’re happier dancing together than fighting with each other.“
Kleiner Fun Fact am Rande: Der tanzende Yeti ist niemand geringeres als Sebastian Grainger von Death From Above 1979 und Ehemann von Regisseurin Eva.
Die bisher bestätigten Live-Dates des Duos werden um einen Auftritt beim Hamburger Reeperbahnfestival erweitert. An allen fünf Terminen werden Deap Vally auch hierzulande mit ihrem energiegeladenen Indie-Rock das Publikum zum Schwitzen bringen.
