Peter Doherty, der jetzt in der Normandie lebt, hat sich mit dem Komponisten/Produzenten Frédéric Lo zusammengetan und das wunderbare Album “The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime” aufgenommen. “The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime“ ist ab heute auf Vinyl, CD, Kassette und digital über Strap Originals erhältlich.

„The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime“ ist ein weiteres Meisterwerk des Künstlers, der sich ständig weiterentwickelt und selbst herausfordert und eine Symbiose aus Peters europäischer Poesie und Frédérics köstlichen frankophonen Musikarrangements. Geschrieben wurde „The Fantasy Life of Poetry & Crime” während des Lockdowns. Aufgenommen wurde es in Cateuil in Étretat (Normandie) und im Water Music Studio in Paris, gemischt wurde es von François Delabrière im Studio Moderne in Paris. Alle Texte stammen von Peter Doherty und die Musik von Frédéric Lo.Peter Doherty über seine Begegnung mit Frederic:

„It was a time of infectious and catchy malady amongst the cauchoise..and throughout the known world..Curiously, after 20 years of sustained intoxication, my own inner populace of demons and creative coalition were doing their own strange dance-off/war of attrition. A new balance of power was forming. A fragile state emerged in a detoxified land. Was this as a backdrop a man in a hat with a guitar on his back did appear in silhouette, high on a Normandy clifftop.I squinted in the late morning sun and put out a shaky hand.. „Mr Frederic Lo, I presume..”

Frédéric Lo über die Zusammenarbeit mit Peter:

“I went to find Peter, a year and a half ago, with the intention of asking him to participate in my tribute album to Daniel Darc. The recording went perfectly. Peter’s interpretation gave me chills. The version was beautiful. It was then that Peter asked me to continue working together. So we met again in September. I proposed melodies. Peter would write lyrics to my music, improvise, erase. Then began two months of daily writing and composing. I loved the time spent in this house with Peter, just concentrating on making songs, sitting in the kitchen, with a guitar, a typewriter, oysters, cigars, wine, rum… Some laughter. A few tears too.” 

Frédéric Lo ist ein französischer Musiker, musikalischer Leiter, Komponist, Arrangeur, Musikproduzent und Singer-Songwriter. Der in Paris lebende Lo ist vor allem für seine Arbeit im Duett mit Daniel Darc und für seine Arbeit mit Pony Pony Run Run , Stephan Eicher, Maxime Le Forestier , Christophe Honoré und Alex Beaupain bekannt.

Peter Doherty hat drei Alben mit “The Libertines” veröffentlicht (“Up The Bracket” (2002), “The Libertines”(2004) & “Anthems For Doomed Youth”(2015) und mit den Babyshambles “Down In Albion” (2005), “Shotters Nation” (2007) & “Sequel To The Prequel”(2013), zwei Soloalben “Grace/Wastelands” (2009) & ”Hamburg Demonstrations”(2017) und “Peter Doherty & The Puta Madres” (2019).

Im Mai werden Peter Doherty & Frédéric Lo zwei exklusive Konzerte in Deutschland spielen:
